When not in use, lift barriers are vertically embedded in the ground. If required, these barriers can either be pulled up with a lifting device (front-end loaders, e.g. tractors, wheeled loaders, excavators, fork lift trucks, etc.) or automatically by means of a hydraulic cylinder. The submersion chamber for the barrier construction must be approx. 1.0 m lower than the required flood height. The clear width of the submersion chamber is approx. 1.0 m.
